Challenge Check In

Well I've been plodding on here at troll manor, I've sewed a few dresses for myself and a school dress for the rascal and I've started work on a quilt after swearing I wouldn't do another!

I just have to make some binding to finish this dress, but binding is not my favourite thing to do!

We had a great time at the burning man festival at Butser Ancient Farm and my kitchen wall is now adorned with authentic 5 foot Besom.

A very nice man offered to take our photos, here we are in front of the 30ft burning man, before he was set alight.
Some ve y jovial Morris dancers in the centre of the Roman village.

Here is the Roast Pig in her beltane crown she made at the festival with her face painted, which we all had on entering the site.
Daddy troll liked the Spirits of Ishtar!  Anything for a glimpse of slightly wobbly flesh!

I've been watering the garden like there is no tomorrow as we have had no rain until last night which is just astounding for England! Lots of odd jobs have been completed and it has made me realise I spend way too much time on the computer.  It has been refreshing to be honest not feeling the 'nag' to be blogging and feeling guilty when I didn't manage to do it every day.  I take my hat off to those super mums who seem to have football teams of small children round them whom they then home educate, but then still manage the time to create wonderful things which they then blog daily about.  Do they live on caffeine I wonder, or am I just lazy?

Anyway I am me and I am not super mum, but I will be doing my challenge as of tomorrow.  For any of you who may read this post and not any prior to this I will be spending £1 per person, per day and feeding us for a week on this money. you can read more about the challenge HERE  I do hope that those of you initially willing to take part can still join me on my little foray into extreme frugality.  It will be lovely to see you all after my little blog break.

Tomorrow I will be showing you my shopping list and a breakdown of costs so that you can see what I have chosen to spend my money on and tomorrows menu.

Until tomorrow my blog friends.x

We had a really frugal dinner tonight: 2 tins tomatoes, pint and a half of water, 100g bulgar wheat, handful of spinach leaves from the garden, and a sprinkle of salt, pepper and smoked paprika. boil, simmer, blend. Yum and v cheap too. FMx
